Heho is sited on the Asian continent in the center of the country, Myanmar in the Shan State. It is a town located in the Taunggyi District in Kalaw Township in the Shan State. Heho is at a distance of 240 km from the countries capital city, Naypyidaw is mainly recognized for the International Airport. The geographical coordinates puts the place at 20043’24” N and 96046’16” E.

During summer season the average temperature is 290 C and in winter temperature drops to 70 C.
History of Heho:
The Shan rulers were descendants of the Mongols who entered the region in the year 1287. Their reign ended in the year 1555. From the year 1555 till 1885, Heho was under the rule of the Myanmar Empire. In the year 1887, the whole of Shan state was annexed by the British. Heho town too came under the British administration. At the time of Second World War, Shan state fell into the hands of the invading Japanese forces. During this time the Japanese created an air base through which they conducted air raids in other parts of the country. After the end of the Second World War, the British regained control of the region and began reconstruction work. The year 1948 marked the beginning of Myanmar countries independence and the end of British rule in the country.

This Monastery was built in the year 1850 with wood besides Lake Inle, is the oldest of monastery in this region is one of the biggest monastery.
Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda:
This Pagoda is also located close to the Inle Lake is also known as Hpaung Daw U Pagoda is visited by thousands of devotees throughout the year and considered as one of the sacred temples in the city.

Heho is one of the major and an oldest airport in the country which serves with domestic flights is located at the distance of 4 kms from the town. There are daily domestic flights available to Thandwe, Mandalay, Tachilek, Nyaung U, Kengtung, Mong Hsat, Lashio and Yangon and vice versa.
Heho is connected through rail line and nearest railway station to Heho is Shwenyaung Railway Station located at the distance of 15 kms from Heho and connected to various parts of cities and towns in Myanmar.
Heho has well established networks of roadways to places within Myanmar. There are Buses available daily to places such as Taunggyi, Sakangyi, Mandalay, Yangon, etc and vice versa.
