Vietnam formally known as Socialist Republic of Vietnam is situated towards the eastern part of Indochina Peninsula in Southeast Asia. History of Vietnam:

Vietnam was inhabited around 500 BC and in 1000 BC they started to cultivate wet rice cultivation on the banks of Ma and Red rivers during the Bronze Age.

The first kingdom established in Vietnam was Hong Bang Dynasty and in 257 BC, Thuc Phan defeated the last king of Hung King and ruled the region and in 207 BC, Thuc Phan was defeated by Chinese General named Zhao Tuo and they ruled Vietnam for nearly 1,000 years.

Ngo Quyen, lord of Vietnamese in 938 AD defeated the Chinese Army and reclaimed the independence and renamed the region as Dai Viet which means Great Viet and the region prospered under the rule of Ly and Tran Dynasty and later it was ruled by Ming, Ho and Le dynasty.

French occupied the region in the year 1887, during the rule of French they developed Vietnam region and constructed various churches, buildings and transportation system was well developed and also planted the cash crops in the region and made the major trading ports and French ruled the region until Second World War in the year 1940.

From the year 1945 to 1975, many wars were fought between French Republic and Vietnamese.

Food and Culture of Vietnam:

Vietnam is a hilly region and there are wide ranges of delicious and traditional cuisines available in the region and some of the admired cuisines of Vietnamese are noodles with beef or chicken, spring roll, crab sour soup, steamed rolls and varieties of seafood and cuisines differ from North Vietnamese to South Vietnamese. Vietnamese follows Mahayana Buddhism, Taoism and Confucianism and they speak Vietnamese language.
