Apodaca is a city in Mexican state of Nuevo Leen positioned at the coordinates of 25°47′ N 100°11′ W. It is the 4^th largest city of the state after Monterrey, Guadalupe, and San Nicolas de los Garza. Apodaca and its surrounding municipalities come under the Monterrey Metropolitan area. Apodaca municipality is spread over an area of 183.5 sq. km. placed 405 meters above sea level.

Etymology of Apodaca:

Apodaca was named in the honor of Bishop of Linares city, Dr. Salvador Apodaca (born in 1769 in Guadalajara city of Jalisco). Apodaca was founded in 1585.
