Zhairem is sited on the Asian continent in northwest region of the country, Kazakhstan in the Province, Karagandy. Karaganda is the capital of the province. Zhairem town is situated at the distance of 591 km from the countries capital city, Astana. The geographical coordinates puts the place at 48⁰19’55” N and 70⁰9’51” E.

History of Zhairem:

Since Zhairem is part of Karagandy province most of the history is related to Karagandy. During the Soviet rule, coal resources were discovered in most parts of Karaganda. The Soviets and the Russians exploited these vast resources. In this process the entire population in the town was made to evacuate the region and move toward the south. After the end of the Soviet rule in the year 1997, Karaganda became part of the country, Kazakhstan. From then on the place began to develop in all spheres.
