Hazaribagh is a city in Hazaribagh district in Jharkhand, India and it is divisional headquarters of North Chotanagpur Division. Hazaribagh is one of the prominent coal reserve in Jharkhand state and it stands in second position after Dhanbad in production of coal and there are several projects established in this region as it is one of the wealthy cities in Jharkhand and it has number of good educational institutions and it is one of the preferred destination because of the climate.

History of Hazaribagh:

The region of Hazaribagh was covered by the dense forest and was the home for the tribes and the whole region was identified as the Jharkhand and during the Akbar rule in the year 1556, his army entered the Jharkhand forest and explored the region, after that this region came under various rulers. This region boomed under the British Raj and the city was planned by the British.

Suraj Kund: this is one of the major tourist attractions in Hazaribagh, where tourists can come across the unique hot water spring in India and there are other hot water kunds around the Suraj Kund by name Sita Kund, Lakshman Kund, Ram Kund and Bramh Kund.

Hazaribagh Lake: this is one of the prominent locations in Hazaribagh, as this lake is bound by the bungalows, civil servants and it is also bound by the Air Station and tourists can enjoy the sunrise and sunset near the third lake, which is the largest lake among the four.

Canary Hill: this is one of the prominent tourist destinations in Hazaribagh and this hill is bound by the dense forest and it has small lake at the bottom of the Canary hill. Tourist can trek to this forest or can hire a car to reach the destination.

Bhadrakali Temple: this temple is situated at the distance of 50 Kms from Hazaribagh and it is one of the prominent temples, which is around 400 years old and situated between Mahane and Vaksha rivers.
