History of Bagdogra

The history dates back to the early 20^th century when numerous tribal people wandered at this time to labor at the tea gardens in the Darjeeling foothills. To perk up the Episcopal care for the town’s people, Bagdogra was detached from Darjeeling diocese. On June 14, 1997 Bagdogra came into being as a new diocese.
