History of Kabul:

Kabul is one of the ancient cities and the history dates back to 565 A.D. when it was ruled by Kabul Shahi rulers. The Kushans ruled Kabul from 135 B.C. to 248 B.C. followed by Mauryans who ruled the city from 180 B.C. to 305 B.C. Kabul came under the rule of Safavids during 1510 A.D. to 1709 A.D. Mughals invaded Kabul in 1501 A.D. and ruled till 1738 A.D. Kabul was also under the rule of Timurids, Kurts, Khiljis and Ghaznivids until the year 1709 it became a part of Hotaki dynasty. Islam was launched in Kabul in year 1919 and was under the control of militant outfit called Talibans till the early 19^th century.
