History of Budva:
Budva is one of the oldest inhabited towns in the country dates back to 5th century on the coast of Adriatic and the town was established by Cadmus the Phoenician. Later Greek and Roman Empires established the settlement in the region but after the fall of Romans the town was divided into east and west making a permanent contact on the history and culture of the town. For nearly 400 years the town was ruled by Venetians from 1420 to 1797 and most of the populace in the town speaks Venetian language. The town was later rule by Austria, France and Russia and the town got its independence in the year 1944.

Church of Saint John:
Church of Saint John is situated at the distance of 3 kilometers from middle of the city is one of the oldest church in the town and main attraction of the church are the icon of Madonna in Punta, wealthy archives and library, is the most visited churches in the country.
