History of Johvi:

Johvi was the small village during the rule of Denmark in the country in the year 1241 and named as Gewi and Jewi and church was constructed in the 13^th century and became the hub of local church parish. The town was renamed as Johvi in the year 1938, by Konstantin Päts.
