Aachen is a spa town located in the North Rhine-Westphalia state in Germany, around 85 km from the state capital Dusseldorf and 635 km from the national capital, Berlin. It is situated in the extreme west of Germany, near the borders of the Netherlands and Belgium. Aachen is home to one of the top universities of Germany, RWTH Aachen University. The economy of Aachen is centered on the manufacturing industry and rich tourism.

Aachen is geographically located between 50°46′31″ N latitude and 6°4′58″ E longitude at an elevation of 266 meters, covering an area of 160.83 sq. km. Aachen receives rainfall consistently throughout the year.
