History of Interlaken:
Interlaken is one of the oldest settlements in Switzerland and was recognized after the construction of Interlaken Abbey around 1133 and during 13th century the abbey’s influence extended throughout the neighboring regions. Interlaken was recognized as Aarrmuhle village and name of the village was changed to Interlaken in the year 1838 and gradually developed as the international resort around 1800. Tourism industry gradually weakened during World War but later in the year 1955, it reestablished itself in the tourism industry.
