Kas is a tourist favor town as well as a district situated in the province of Antalya in Turkey, around 190 km southwest of the Antalya city and 670 km southwest of Antalya, the capital of Turkey. It is famous for fishing, diving and yachting activities during the summer months. Kas has also gained popularity from its historical sites, especially from Hellenistic theatre and the production of oranges, lemons and bananas.

History of Kas:

According to the archeological history, the Lycians were the founder of Kas and during their period, Kas was called as Habesos. As like most other Turkish towns and cities, Kas also came under the reign of Greeks and Romans. The tourism sector of Kas began to grow in the early 1990s with the visit of UK and Germany tourists.

Getting Kas:

Kas is served by Dalaman Airport and Antalya Airport, situated around 180 km and 190 km from Kas respectively. Both of these airports have international connections but the latter one is one of the largest airports in Turkey. Taxis are always accessible at the above airports and bus service is also available between the airports and Kas.
