Abaco is a group of islands comprising of Great Abaco and Little Abaco, is located in the Caribbean country Bahamas. It is situated towards the north of the national capital, Nassau, comprising 5 of the 31 Districts of the country. Lucayan people were the first inhabitants of Abaco Island and Loyalists were the first European settlers of Abaco. Abaco contributed well during the independence movement of Bahamas.
