History of Nowy Sacz:

Nowy Sacz was established by Bohemian King Wenceslaus II in the year 1292 and during the 15^th century steel and woolen products were exported from the town. During 16^th century the town was prospered and was the main hub of the Protestant Reformation but during the 17^th century the town was destroyed due to the fire and later it was occupied by the Swedish Army. The Nowy Sacz town however again flourished in the 19^th century after the establishment of railway line and during the World War II the town was captured by Nazi Germany in the year 1939 and the town was occupied by Jewish Community.
