Phansad Wildlife Sanctuary

Janjira Fort

Janjira Fort which was built in the 16th Century is sited around 21 km from Kashid Beach. This citadel is situated in the Raigad region of Maharashtra and is bordered by the turquoise tinted water of the Arabian Sea.

In the earlier times the fortress was sheltered by the timber arrangement done by the fishermen but lately after the renovation numerous towers and battlement were built to keep a bird watch on the opponents and bandits. Revdanda Beach Fort is positioned near the Revdanda Beach just around 14 km from Kashid Beach. This castle was constructed by the Portuguese and at present has deteriorated to a very high extent. The whole citadel is enclosed by the betel nut vegetation.
