Kotor is a town in Kotor Municipality in Montenegro Country and placed in Gulf of Kotor. History of Kotor:

Kotor was inhabited by the Ancient Romans around 168 BC and was popular as Ascrivium or Ascruvium village. Fortification was constructed during the Middle Ages during the rule of Justinian and prospered during the 10^th century and until the 11^th century Dalmatian language was spoken in the village. Kotor was destroyed during the rule of First Bulgarian Empire. After the fall of Serbian Empire, the region came under the power of Serbian Desporate and from 1420 to 1797; it was the part of Venetian Albania province. Kotor was the part of the Kingdom of Italy from 1941 to 1943 but after 1945 it became the part of Socialist Republic of Montenegro.
