Nyala is the capital city of the state of South Darfur in the southwestern part of the Northeastern African country, Sudan. It is situated around 1100 km southwest of the national capital, Khartoum. Nyala is relatively an upgraded city with all major facilities such as banks (branches of the People’s Cooperative Bank and the Agricultural Bank of Sudan), a university, the Nyala University. History of Nyala:
Nyala served as the capital of the Daju Empire in the past. During the British rule in Sudan, Nyala was chosen for the establishment of the British Administration Headquarters in Darfur in 1932 with the assistance of then Sultan Adam Suleiman.
