History of Taichung:

Taichung was inhabited by the Babuza people and they cultivated millet and taro. In the year 1682, Qing Dynasty occupied Taichung region. In the year 1786, the Qing dynasty was attacked by Ming Dynasty but failed to capture the region and during the rule of Qing the region was called as Dadun. In the year 1895, Japanese captured Taiwan in the Sino Japanese War and they renamed the city from Dadun to Taichu during the rule of Japan, they developed the city and port was established as well. In the year 1945, Republic of China captured Taiwan and developed Taichung region in all spheres.
