Ubari is an oasis town located in the Fezzan region of the African country Libya. It is the administrative centre of the Wadi al Hayaa District, situated in the Saharan desert part of Libya, around 960 km south of the national capital, Tripoli. The town of Ubari is located in the midst of the Idhan Ubari lakes and erg sand dunes and the Messak Sattafat plateau. Ubari is blessed by the native Saharan date palms and wetland grasses that are grown up at the lake shore.
A well known archaeological site Germa is located around 30 km east of Ubari on the highway connecting these to much larger city Sabha. Ubari served as the seat of the former Awbari district in its history. Ubari lies at an elevation of 468 meters and coordinates with 26°35′ N latitude and12°46′ E longitude.
Connectivity to Ubari:
The Ubari Airport is situated around 6 km southeast of the heart of the town of Ubari. The airport is catered by Libyan Airlines with scheduled flights from the country capital, Tripoli. For airport travel, visitors are advised to book a rental car prior reaching the airport through online as taxis don’t always be existed at the airport.
Ubari can also directly be reached from Tripoli, Zliten and Benghazi by road by rental vehicles.

The ruins of a old village and grass settings and palm trees are also popular among visitors here.
