Jauja or Shausha is the capital city Jauja Province in Junin Region of Peru placed at an altitude of 3,400 meters. History of Jauja:
Jauja was founded with name ‘Santa Fe de Hatun Xauxa’ as the capital of Peru on April 25, 1534 by Spanish conquistador Francisco Pizarro but it was replaced by Lima in 1535 as Peru’s capital. The name of Jauja was derived from the Quechua language.
