Jolo is a volcanic island in Sulu province in Philippines and the capital of Sulu province and it has group of Volcanoes which has number of volcanic cones and craters. Jolo covers an area of 150.89 Sq Kms and most of the populace in Jolo islands is Muslims followed by Christians. History of Jolo:
Jolo was inhabited by Tausug people and in 14th century, Arab traders invaded Jolo islands and the island was ruled by the Sultanate of Sulu and it was the political and economical center in Jolo.
Spain declared Philippines has their new region in the year 1521 but failed to conquer the South part of Philippines as it was ruled by Muslims.
During 15th century, the Jolo region became the major trading center for various counties and they imported various food products from china and Singapore and Chinese supplied arms to Jolo region as well but in the year 1876, Spanish declared war against the Muslim region and captured the region and in the year 1892 the region suffered loss in trading due to series of storms between Singapore and Jolo.

Jolo Branch Museum:
This museum is situated in Jolo city and was established in the year 1997 and this building is a branch of National Museum and displays the rare artifacts of Sulu’s ethnographic.
Bud Daho:
Bud Daho is one of the highest peaks in Sulu which is located at an elevation of 2,247 feet above the sea level and situated at the distance of 13 Kms from Jolo in Patikul city.
Masjid Jami Mosque:
This is mosque is located in center of the city and the largest mosque in the city visited by thousands of devotees from various parts of Philippines.
