History of Kielce:
Kielce was settled around 5th century and during 6th and 7th centuries the region was inhabited by Celts on the banks of river Silnica. Bohemia established the colonies in Kielce but soon captured by Piast dynasty. Mountain region were unpopulated until the 11th century and the first enduring settlement was established out the hills and market was established for the trade and the region was surrounded by rich minerals and during the 15th century the town was one of the main hub for metallurgy. During the First World War, Kielce was the first town to gain independence from Russia and Kielce became the capital of Kielce Voivodeship.
