History of Medan:
Medan city was called as Kampung Medan village and was established by Guru Patimpus in the year 1590’s. Malays of the Malay Peninsula were the first inhabitants of Medan and later it was captured by Sultan Iskandar Muda and this region grew under the Sultanate of Delhi. In the year 1860, the Dutch colonial was established under the Dutch rule the region was well established and developed and became the commercial centre. Medan became the capital of North Sumatra Province in the year 1915.
