It is geographically positioned at 32°22′39.12″ N 15°05′31.26″ E, around 185 km east of Tripoli, the capital of Libya. Misrata is considered as the commercial capital of Libya and is also the 3rd largest city of Libya in terms of population. Misrata experiences a hot semi-arid climate. History of Misrata:
The name of Misrata may be derived from the Misrata tribe. According to the historical records, Misrata was founded by the Islamic Caliphate around the 7th century AD.
