Obuasi is a town belonging to the Ashanti Region of Ghana, located around 60 km south of the regional capital, Kumasi and 200 km northwest of the national capital, Accra. The Obuasi Gold Mine is owned by AngloGold Ashanti Company. It is situated in Adansi North District, in the vicinity of the town of Obuasi. It can be visited by a guided tour organized by the Public Relations Directorate of AGA.

The AGA Hospital is the most important hospital in Obuasi, operated by Anglo Gold. This hospital is recognized as the place of many successful critical surgeries.
