History of Opole:

First settlement was established along the Odra River during the 8th century and during the 10th century the region was ruled by Piast dynasty and later the region was ruled by various rulers. Opole was captured by Ferdinand I, under the sovereignty of the Habsburg Monarchy of Austria but was captured by King Frederick II of Prussia in the year 1740 from Austria. During the Prussia rule the region prospered. After the World War II, Opole became the part of Second Polish Republic and after the Second World War the region was completely transferred to Poland from Germany.
