Ganta is a town belonging to the Nimba County in the northern part of the Western African country Liberia. It lies near the Liberian border with Guinea, around 260 km northeast of Monrovia, the capital of Liberia. Ganta is one of the emerging cites of Liberia with many modern entertainment centers, shops, bar and restaurants. The town also houses a large health facility, Ganta United Methodist Hospitals.
Among tourists Ganta is well known as a gateway to Nimba Nature Reserve, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, shared between Guinea, Côte d’Ivoire and Liberia. Ganta coordinates with 7°14′15″ N latitude and 8°58′53″ W longitude.
How to reach Ganta?
Nimba Airport is the nearest airport to Ganta, located around 60 km northwest of Ganta. It probably receives flights only from the national capital Monrovia occasionally. So international tourists are advised to reach Roberts International Airport near Monrovia first and afterwards they can use bus or rental vehicle to get Ganta.
Roberts International Airport is located around 230 km southwest of Ganta and covers London, Brussels, New York and many other world cities.

UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Mount Nimba Strict Nature Reserve is a large protected area, with a population of around 200 endemic wildlife species, mainly big cats,viviparous toads and Chimpanzees. Yekepa is the closest city to Mount Nimba. As park is located on the borderline, exploring it along with a guide would be helpful.

Yekepa is the nearby major town of Ganta, around 70 km away. The town is located close to a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Mount Nimba Strict Nature Reserve. Yekepa is also known for African Bible College University. There is direct road connectivity from Ganta to Yekepa.
