Hvar is an island in Croatia country in the Adriatic Sea, situated in the middle of Brac, Vis and Korcula Islands. History of Hvar:
Neolithic people were the first inhabitants on the island and later in 4th century Greeks established the colonies on the island and named the island has Pharos. Roman captured the island in 2190 B.C and renamed as Pharia and after the fall of Roman rule, the island was controlled by Bisantium and later occupied by Slavic tribes, Narentines, Kingdom of Croatia. In the 12th century, vines and wine cultivation was popular on the island introduced by Republic of Venice and later the island was ruled by Kingdom of Hungary. French attacked the island in 1806 during the Napoleonic War but later the island was captured by British Army.
