Mississauga is a city situated in Ontario province of Canada between 43°36′ N latitude and 79°39′ W longitude, belongs to Regional Municipality of Peel, covers an area of 292.40 sq. km. Mississauga is the 6^th most populous municipality in Canada, located about 27 km from Toronto city and 470 km from the national capital Ottawa. Mississauga is the location of Toronto Pearson International Airport.

Mississauga is positioned on the shores of Lake Ontario in the Southern Ontario in the western division of Greater Toronto Area, is located about 156 meters above the sea level.

History of Mississauga:

It is said that, Mississauga got its name from Anishinaabe word ‘Misi-zaagiing’ which means ‘Those at the Great River mouth.’ Mississauga was established as a town in 1968 and it gained city status in 1974.
