Saqqaq is one of the least populated villages due to the lack of facilities and it was named as the Saqqaq due to the Saqqaq Culture. History of Saqqaq:
Saqqaq was first inhabitant in 2000 BCE and 800 BCE and settlement was established at Nuussuaq Peninsula on the Coast of Uummannaq Fjord and as per the records it is believed that Saqqaq people came from Siberia around 5,500 years ago.

How to Reach Saqqaq?
Saqqaq is not served by airport but Heliport is available in the Saqqaq which operates to Ilulissat Airport frequently during the winter season and from Ilulissat one can get the flights services to other parts of Greenland and flights are operated by Air Greenland.
Boat services are operated during the summer and autumn season and flights are not operated during these months and ferry services are available to and fro to Qeqertaq, Oqaatsut, and Ilulissat.
