Tacuarembo is a city and the capital of Tacuarembo department in Uruguay country situated in north central part of the country. Tacuarembo is a significant hub for Gaucho culture and the birthplace of Carlos Gardel. History of Tacuarembo:
During the presidential judgment, Fructuoso Rivera ordered to create the new region in the year 1831. Initiative of creating the city was given to Fructuose Rivera brother, Colonel Bernabe Rivera and he established the town near the Tacuaremboty River and the region was divided into blocks for settlement and named the town as “San Fructuoso”, by the year 1837 few populace started to settle in the region and several buildings were established in the town and in the year 1912 it was declared a city.
