Sosua is a town in the province of Puerto Plata in Dominican Republic separated into three sectors by name El Batey, Sosua Abajo and Los Charamicos spans an area of 106.91 square miles (276.89 square kilometers) and situated at the distance of 23 kilometers from the Puerto Plata province. Sosua is one of the tourism places in the province which attracts thousands of tourists every year and economy of the town depends on agriculture and tourism industry. Sosua is surrounded by Cangrejo, Montellano, Ascencion, and Cabarete towns and situated at the distance of 206 kilometers from the capital of Dominican Republic, Santo Domingo and 19.7500° N, 70.5200° W.

History of Sosua:

Sosua town is inhabited by Jewish, German and Austrian refugees, who obtained the visa from Dominican government from the year 1940 to 1945 and the government offered them a land in Sosua. They established the dairy and cheese factory in the town.
