History of Antibes:

Antibes was established by Phocaeans from Massilla as a Greek colony in 5^th century and due to natural port the town was the major trading center. Rome invaded the Mediterranean coast gradually and established their kingdom in the town as well in 43 BC and ruled for the next 500 years and after the fall of Roman empire in 476 AD, barbarian tribes seized the town and in 10^th century, Seigneur Rodoart constructed the extensive fortified walls around the town and they occupied for next 200 years.
