Bost is located in southern Afghanistan of Helmand Province in Lashkar Gah district at the confluence of 2 rivers namely Helmand and Arghandab. Bost lies at an elevation level of 773 meters above sea level and coordinates with 31.34’59” degree North Latitude and 64.22’9” degree East Longitude.
Bost History:
Bost also called as Lashkar Gah in Persian language means “army barracks” which dates back to 1000 years ago that was part of Saffarids in 9th century. Bost was under rule of Saffarid dynasty in 16th century and became a part of Hotaki Empire in the year 1709. Bost was attacked by Afsharid forces in 1738 and in the year 1747 was ruled by rulers of Durrani Empire. Bost was ruled by the British in 1840 and it was ruled by successor Ayub Khan during the Second Anglo-Afghan War.

Helmand River:
This is one of the longest rivers situated in Afghanistan having a length of 1150 kms. The river starts from Hind Kush Mountain Ranges and terminates at Baluchistan in Iran. The river is most ideal for making picnic and provides many water laden activities such as swimming, fishing and boating.
Mirwais Nika Park:
This is one of the major tourist attractions lying on the banks of river Helmand which is surrounded by many trees and rich in flora and fauna. The tourists can spot many species of wild animals, birds, reptiles and mammals that inhabit the park.
Lashkar Gah Mosque:
This is one of the most prominent mosques located in heart of the city visited by thousands of devotees during Eid and Ramzan. Many visit the mosque to offer Friday prayers and namaz.
