History of Gura Humorului:

Gura Humorului was settled by Germans before the establishment of Jewish colonies in the town. In the year 1869, first Jewish community was established in the town and they established the small business and shops in the town. In the year 1899, the town was destroyed but later reconstructed by Jewish Communities and they established themselves in the town. During the World War I, it became the battlefield between Austrian and Russian Armies and Russians were defeated by Austrian Army in the year 1917.
