Hyderabad is the fifth largest city in Pakistan situated in Sindh Province is located about 150 kms northeast of provincial capital Karachi and about 1300 kms southwest of national capital Islamabad. Hyderabad is the district headquarters of Hyderabad district.

Hyderabad is one of the industrial hubs of Pakistan houses the sugar, cement, manufacturing of mirror, soap, ice, paper, pottery, plastics, tanneries and textile industries. Hyderabad is famed as the leading bangle producer in the world.

 

History of Hyderabad:

Mian Ghulam Shah Kalhoro found Hyderabad in the year in the year 1768, witnessed the last Battle of Amir Talpor and British, Battle of Miani and Battle of Dubae. Before the independence of India in 1947, Hyderabad was one of the regions of India.

 

Geography of Hyderabad:

Hyderabad is positioned between 25°22′45″ N latitude and 68°22′06″ E longitude and is placed 13 meters above the sea level and covers an area of 3,198 sq. km.

Hyderabad is situated on the east banks of the River Indus experiences a very hot desert climate. April, May, June and July are the hottest months in Hyderabad.

 

How to reach Hyderabad?

Hyderabad Airport is located 8 kms from the centre of the city with flights from Islamabad and Lahore on Tuesdays and Fridays and from Nawabashah on Friday.

Hyderabad Railway Station and Hyderabad City Railway Station are the two major railway stations of Hyderabad. Indian tourists can board trains to Hyderabad from Monabao town.

Hyderabad is well connected by bus with major cities of the country namely Lahore, Quetta, Islamabad, Karachi, Rawalpindi and Multan.
