History of Kathmandu:
Kathmandu was established by Manjusri and named it as Manjupattan and later it was ruled by Gopalas, Mahispalas, Aabhirs, Kirants, and Somavanshi and Licchavis. The Licchavis conquered the Kiratas and established their dynasty in Kathmandu and they started the trade between the India and Tibet. During the Malla period they were attacked by Khas and Turk Muslims and during this era an earthquake occurred and destroyed all the monuments and later various travelers from China visited this place and established the trade. In the year 1768, Gorkha Kingdom defeated the Malla Kingdom in Battle of Kathmandu and was the starting of modern Kathmandu. Later Kathmandu was occupied by Rana ruler and developed the city.
