Kingstown is the capital city of the island country, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, geographically positioned between 13°09′28″ N latitude and 061°13′30″ W longitude. It is the most populated and largest settlement of SVG holding the major port of the country.

Kingstown is located in the southwest part of Saint Vincent Island belonging to the Saint George parish. Bananas, coconuts, and arrowroot are the main products that Kingstown exports to foreign countries.

Kingstown houses most of the major administrative buildings of SVG including Financial Complex and Office of the Prime Minister. Saint Vincent Grammar School and Saint Vincent Girls High School are the very old schools of Kingstown dating back to 1908 and 1911 respectively.

History of Kingstown:

Kingstown was founded by French in 1722. Some historical identities of Kingstown include Fort Charlotte (1806) and Botanic Gardens St. Vincent (1765).

St Mary’s Catholic Cathedral of the Assumption:

St Mary’s Catholic Cathedral of the Assumption is the massive church dating back to 1800. It was built with blend of different architectural styles and in 1887, the steeple and sanctuary were attached. It is amazing.
