Leiderdorp is a town as well as municipality located in the province of South Holland in the Netherlands, around 40 km southwest of the national capital, Amsterdam. Leiderdorp is partially the suburb of Leiden but these two are separated by Zijl and Oude Rijn rivers. In the Eighty Years’ War, the Spanish used Leiderdorp as base for their army.

The Hortus Botanicus is a botanical garden belonging to the University of Leiden and housing a wide range of flowers and trees from the different regions of the world. Here one can find way to the Astronomical Observatory. The admission fee is €6 (adult) and €2.5 (children).

Located in Oegstgeest, around 6 km away from Leiderdorp, Corpus is a 6 story human body shaped statue and inside this statue, visitors can experience the formation of the human body and function. It is allowed for visitors Tuesday – Sunday (9 AM – 7 PM) and the admission fee is €17, 50.
