History of Mahdia:
Mahdia was founded by Africans in the year 1884 and they travelled to the country in search of gold. British established the mining company in the region, but it was only accessible through waterways later after the construction of bridge in the year 1933, which linked Mahdia to Bartica by trail and suspension bridge was named after the Sir Edward Denham, colonial governor of British.
