Malacca is the 3rd smallest state in Malaysia lying on the southern region bound by Straits of Malacca, Negeri Sembilan and Johor having a total area of 1664 sq kms. Malacca is approx 148 kms from Kualalumpur and about 235 kms away from city of Johor Bahru. Malacca city is the capital of Malacca and its coordinates at 2.12’ degree North Latitude and 102.15’ degree East Longitude.
Malacca History:
Historic evidences say that Malacca was founded by Parameshwara, the last king of Singapura (present day Singapore) in the year 1377. Before the Sultans set their foot in Malacca, the region was fishing village dominated by local Malay group of communities. Malacca was ruled by Sultanates during 14th century followed by Portuguese who landed in this place around 1511 led by Alphonso Albuquerque. The Dutch captured Malacca in the year 1641 followed by British who had control over the place during 18th century. The Japanese invaded Malacca in the year 1942 and finally Malacca became a part of Malaysia in the year 1963.
