Pakokku is situated towards the west of Myanmar in Magway Region. Magway Region was previously known as Magway Division. Pakokku town forms the center of administration of Pakokku district. Pakokku is situated at a distance of 280 km from the capital city, Naypyidaw and the Ayeyarwady River flows besides Pakokku Town where farming and fishing forms the livelihood of the inhabitants. The geographical coordinates puts the place at 21020’ N and 95005’ E.
