History of Platres:

Platres is one of the oldest villages in the Limassol district inhabited during the Lusignan and Frank Rule from 1192 to 1489 AD and later was occupied by Venetian rule from 1489 to 1571 AD. Platres was the small village until the occupation of British in the year 1878, British were astonished by the beauty of the Troodos Mountains which provided the panorama view of the island and they established the summer resort in the village and number of tourists visited the island during and during the 20^th century various developments like hotels, villas, resorts and restaurants are seen in the town.
