History of Rouen:
Rouen was established by Vikings in 841 and the colony was founded by Rollo and in 10th century it became the capital of the Duchy of Normandy and self government was established in 12th century. In 1204, textile industry based on wool was established in the city and it was imported from England and during eh Hundred Year’s War, Rouen admit was defeated by Henry V of England. Henry IV attacked the town on numerous instances but was defied and in the year 1870, the town was captured by Prussians in Franco-Prussian War.
