Tokmok is an administrative town of Chuy province in Kyrgyzstan or the Kyrgyz Republic, one of the Mountainous land-locked, 15 CIS countries of Central Asia. Tokmok is located towards North of Kyrgyzstan and to the East of the capital city of Bishkek.
Tokmok located around 800 meters above seal level on the border of Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan in the North. Tokmok is located in the middle of the Chui river valley flowing to its North. To the East of Tokmok is the Issyk-Kul province and to the South is the Naryn province and to the West is the Talas province with the province of Jalal-Abad to the Southwest.
Tokmok has pleasant and warm summers during the months of May to August with occasional rainfall and the night temperature are usually very low than the day temperature and chilly winters during the months of November to March.
History of Tokmok in Kyrgyzstan:
Tokmok was most sought after place for many rulers who fought wars to gain control of Tokmok during the mid centuries before it came under the control of the Kokand Khanate during the second quarter of the 19th century, before the Russians gained control of the region in 1860s. Under the Russian rule Tokmok was a well developed town with glass manufacturers setting up their industries producing liquid glass in large quantities till the breakup for the Russian Confederation in 1991and the economy slowing down.
