Tongi is a town located at the coordinates of 23°53′24″ N 90°24′21″ E in Gazipur District in Bangladesh. It is situated about 26 km north of Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh. Tongi is positioned in the banks of Turag River and is one of the industrial hubs of Dhaka Division home to BSCIC industrial area.

Mir Jumla II was a famous king ruled Tongi region from 1660 to 1663 and constructed a fort and Turag Bridge during his period. Tong also witnessed the rule of British East India Company.
