History of Vevey:

Vevey region was settled as early as the 2^nd millennium BC but prospered under the Roman rule and they named the town as Viviscus and later ruled by bishopric of Lausanne and after the fall the region came under the rule of Blonay family. During the 19^th century industrial activities flourished in the town and became the headquarters of Nestle Food Company.
