Vinh is situated in Nghe An Province in northern part of Vietnam and a capital city of Nghe An Province. Vinh city covers an area of 105 Sq Kms is a Grade I city in Vietnam and a major city in North Central Coastal region.
Vinh city is bounded by Nghi Loc, Hung Nguyen, Nghi Xuan, Cua Lo, Xuan Hoa, Hong Linh, Duc Tho and Loc Ha and Vinh is situated at the distance of 300 Kms from Hanoi, capital of Vietnam and coordinates of Vinh are 18.6667° N, 105.6667° E.
History of Vinh:
Vinh was recognized as Ke Van and later in the year 1789 officially it was named as Vinh. Vinh city has been the military and political significance from the past.
Tay Son dynasty declared the Vinh as the capital city of Vietnam between the years 1788 to 1802, during the rule they constructed various forts and monuments in the region but dint not hold for long, as it was captured by the French.
In the year 1905, war between Viet Minh and French destroyed several forts and monuments in the region and later in Vietnam War, U.S military smashed the region by bombing.
