Vyborg is located on the Vyborg Bay is a town in Leningrad Oblast region in Russia. Vyborg is the administrative hub of Vyborgsky District and located close to the border of Finland and the town is identified for its major industrial manufacture of paper and fast growing in tourism industry.

Vyborg is located around 135 kilometers from St Petersburg and 855 kilometers from Moscow, capital of Russia and surrounded by Bolshoye Pole, Seleznyovo, Goncharovo, Vysotsk, Gavrilovo, Glubokoye, Vozrozhdeniye and Luzhayka. Coordinates of Vyborg are 60.7064° N, 28.7442° E.

History of Vyborg:

Vyborg was populated by the Balto Finnic tribe and was the main trading hub on the Vuoksi River and later occupied by Novgorod and Sweden. First castle in the town was constructed in 1293, by Marshal Torkel Knutsson and battle was fought between Sweden and Novgorod to capture the castle and later it was captured by Sweden. Vyborg was ruled by Sweden for several years and they gave importance to trading and formed the government in the region. Vyborg developed as major trading center during 19^th century and main trading was carried out with the eastern part of Finland and later captured by Finland and after the Winter War in 1944, Vyborg was conquered by Russia.
